Doctor
Vinay was in his mid-twenties. He had dark brown eyes, was skinny and weighed 50 kilos. After cracking an interview at a top firm, he moved out of his parents to a new city. He decided to stay with his friend Vikram.
He was a googler. For everything he needed, he always found answers on google. Shopping - google, toothbrush - google, travel - google, cooking - google. Such an expert at googling he was, that he could’ve been world champion in adwords if there was such a thing.
Vinay and Vikram were disciplined, kept the house squeaky clean, cooked their own food and had a maid for help. Vinay was a picky eater and sometimes he skipped meals. Vikram was a software engineer and worked during the day. He commuted by motorcycle to work. Vinay was into operations, worked in rotational shifts and used office cab.
One day at work, Vinay was out of balance and started feeling dizzy. He couldn’t stand and felt the entire floor was spinning. He informed his boss and took the day off. Without taking any medications, he slept the night off and next morning he was feeling no better. Vikram noticed something was wrong with Vinay and took him to the doctor. Vinay went inside the examination room while Vikram was parking his bike.
Before even the doctor asked what was troubling Vinay, he said he has low blood pressure. The doctor sighed and asked him for the symptoms. He then called in the nurse to give some medications. Vinay was adamant that he had low blood pressure and wanted to check his BP. The doctor asked him if he skipped any meals recently and Vinay said, yes. The diagnosis was to stop googling medical conditions and to eat healthy.
By now, Vikram was rushing in to the examination room. He asked the doctor if Vinay’s BP was normal. The doctor frustrated, yelled “Nurse, for heaven’s sake check this man’s BP”
